TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals selected Ohio State offensive lineman Paris Johnson with the No. 6 overall selection on Thursday night, capping a whirlwind start to the NFL draft for new general manager Monti Ossenfort.Johnson’s arrival gives the Cardinals a potential franchise cornerstone who can protect quarterback Kyler Murray for years to come. The move continued an active evening for the Cardinals, who started the night with the No. 3 overall selection but traded it to the Houston Texans for the No. 12 and No. 33 selections in this year’s draft and a first- and third-round pick in next year’s draft.Ossenfort almost immediately flipped the No. 12 and also sent the No. 34 pick to the Detroit Lions so they could select Johnson, who should immediately bolster the offensive line.It wasn’t a surprise the Cardinals moved down from No. 3, especially once the Texans’ sizable offer became public. The Raiders were 30th last season with 1.6 sacks per game.Wilson made 14 tackles for loss and sevens sacks last year at Texas A&M, making 10 starts before a foot injury ended his season. He was a second-team AP All-American.The Raiders, who went 6-11, have plenty of work left over the final two days of the draft. They own five selections in the first 109 picks and 12 overall.Much of that work will focus on improving a defense that ranked 27th last season in average yardage allowed (365.6) and 26th in scoring average (24.6).___AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl and https://twitter.com/AP_NFLSourceSmotherman posts 63 for one-shot lead in Mexico, Rahm 4 back
