SAN DIEGO -- Tim Gagen has always been an avid bicyclist.“I ride 30- 40 miles, about three times a week,” Gagen said.But on June 9 on a regular day riding, the 69-year-old suffered sudden cardiac arrest.But Michael Brice, paramedic with San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, remembers it.“We saw a bicyclist on our way, kind of acting of erratic,” Brice said.Gagen was riding his bike on Voltaire Street in Ocean Beach then collapsed in an intersection. HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii authorities were looking for a man who fled with a handgun after getting into a scuffle while trying to talk to soldiers at an Army base on Thursday, officials said. No shots were fired but the Army treated it as an “active shooter situation” and two military bases on Oahu went into lockdown for several hours, said Michael Donnelly, a spokesperson for U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii. The Army issued a shelter-in-place order for Schofield Barracks, which was later lifted. The Army was working with the Honolulu Police Department to find the suspect, who was still at large, Donnelly said. A man is dead after he was fatally shot during an alleged altercation in a Garden Grove neighborhood on Thursday, leaving residents frightened and shocked.Around 2:50 p.m., Garden Grove officers responded to reports of a person down on the sidewalk on the 10000 Block of Katella Avenue. ALBANY — East Bay authorities on Thursday night released new details about a deadly police shooting last week in Albany, including the name of the man who was killed, as well as his connection to a woman who was discovered dead at the scene.In a statement, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Lamar Walker, 24, of Vacaville.Just before 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 21, Albany and Berkeley police officers were dispatched to the Toyota of Berkeley Service Center at 1025 Eastshore Highway, near the Berkeley border, for a report of an active shooter, the sheriff’s office said.Berkeley officers arrived at the scene first and evacuated the area. (KRON) -- One person was killed in a crash on the Bay Bridge Thursday night, according to California Highway Patrol. The crash happened on the westbound lanes just west of the bridge's meter lights at about 8:01 p.m. It left a Kia Soul overturned. A 70-year-old man who was driving the Kia was killed. He was extracted from the car and pronounced dead at 8:17 p.m. CHP said the driver crashed into a wall. The left and center lanes of the bridge were blocked after the crash, backing up traffic.
